Sports Day
Our reserve sports day went ahead yesterday. As it was part of Peterhouse Primary School's Olympic games, countries (classes) competed against each other for medals. Athletes ran heats, then competed in finals for 100 metre sprints and relays. India (y1) even managed a few obstacle races before we were rained out.
Medals were awarded at the Closing Ceremony in the afternoon. The Dance Club performed a number they'd created especially for the occasion and Mary-Lou sang God Save the Queen. A great day was had by all.

Sports Day - Friday 13th July 2012
Peterhouse Primary
School Sports Day will start at approximately 9.30am on Friday 13th July and
continue throughout the day, culminating in a closing ceremony after lunch when
medals will be presented.
Your child will need to come to school in either their PE kit or sports clothing in the colours or their country. If your child would like a small flag of their country on their cheek to enter into the spirit of the games, this is acceptable. Children should bring a packed lunch and a bottle of water. Free lunches will be provided as usual and dinners can be paid for on the day as well.
We will all stop for a picnic lunch at about 12 noon and all parents are invited to stay and join their children. After lunch will be the closing ceremony where Dance Mania will be performing, Mary-Lou (Y1) will be singing and there will be a closing speech by Mr Scott. After this, parents will be able to take their children home.
A text message will be sent to you, in the morning, if the weather is unsuitable and Sports Day has to be cancelled. In the event of this happening, children will need to come to school in their uniform as usual.
